The 2025 Advancing Skills and Knowledge Conference (A.S.K.) is fast approaching. If you haven’t registered, please do so immediately! The A.S.K. conference will be held in person on March 1, 2025, from 8am to 1:30pm at White Rock Child Development Center in Durham. The session is entitled “It’s Okay to have Big Emotions: Managing Emotions in the Classroom." Do you feel like you struggle to help children who have BIG feelings?

In this interactive hands-on training session, we will delve deeper into learning more about where big emotions come from and how to respond when these emotions occur. Helping pre-k  children manage their emotions is crucial because it lays a strong foundation for their social and emotional development. Allowing children to build healthy relationships, cope with challenges and succeed in school by enabling them to understand and express their feelings appropriately, which is essential for effective communication and positive interactions with others.

Children who can self regulate their emotions are less likely to act impulsively or have behavioral issues, leading to more positive learning environments. Even the  most seasoned early childhood educator can add more tools to their social-emotional toolbox! Learning and growing never ends!

Key Points about the importance of emotional regulation in pre-k.
  1. Social Skills Development
  2. Academic Success
  3. Mental Health Well-being
  4. Self-Awareness
  5. Resilience Building

Come ready to learn some new behavior management strategies and classroom structures to turn everyday situations into learning opportunities! You will leave this session with practical tools and resources that can be used in your classroom! We are excited to have Community Partnership Inc. as our presenters for this invigorating session.

We look forward to seeing you and your colleagues in March!
