Durham PreK is a program supported and made possible by the Durham County Local Government and community. If you want to support the expansion of high-quality preschool in Durham County, please fill out the form below to donate. Please be sure to list Durham PreK in the "designation" field. In June 2025, Early Years will start our first Durham County Early Educator Academy in collaboration with Durham Tech and El Centro Hispano. Individuals seeking a job in early childhood can join the Academy to jumpstart their career through our 6-week bilingual training program.
Graduates will be ready to work in early education – equipped with their NC Early Childhood Credential, 5 professional certifications, background check, resume, career coaching, and peer support. Graduates will have an opportunity to be hired through 20+ partnering employers in Durham through a job fair and employer connections.
We Need Your Support!
The response to this opportunity has been overwhelming – 93 applications and counting for just 10 fully-funded spots.
Help us raise funds to welcome 10 more students into our first bilingual Early Educator Academy.
We will have donations in June and July to support the Academy. Every contribution creates opportunities for aspiring educators in our community and helps to address our critical childcare workforce needs.

- $1,000: Sponsor interpreting to make professional certifications bilingual
- $600: Sponsor 1 additional participant to join the Early Educator Academy
- $200: Sponsor scholarship for Academy tuition at Durham Tech
- $60: Sponsor CPR/First Aid Certification for 1 student
- $25: Sponsor transportation stipend for student to participate in job shadowing
